IVF Treatment in India

In Vitro Fertilization or IVF is known as test tube baby. This process was first used in England in 1978. In this treatment, the eggs of the woman and the sperm of the man are fertilized in the lab when the embryo is formed and then placed back in the woman’s womb. IVF is one of the most efficient and effective ways for an infertile couple to have a child. IVF has proved to be a safe method for conceiving. IVF works for all Infertility problems like blocked fallopian tubes, PCOS, endometriosis, premature ovarian failure or menopause among women and unusual sperm size, low sperm count, and inadequate sperm mobility among men.

This process is completed in several steps, which include ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval from the woman’s ovary, sperm collection from the man, fertilization, and placement of the embryo in the woman’s womb. One cycle of IVF can take two to three weeks. This process is quite complicated and expensive, but this process is a boon for those couples who have been trying to conceive for many years but not getting successful.

  • Why is IVF suggested?

IVF is not advised for very simple health concerns. Doctors recommend IVF when couples have 5 infertility problems.

  1. Blockage in fallopian tubes– when a woman has a blockage in her fallopian tubes.
  2. Male Infertility– Often, male infertility is also the reason for not conceiving. In this situation also IVF can prove to be a better option.
  3. Suffering from PCOS– If a woman is suffering from PCOS and wants to become a mother, she can go for IVF.
  4. Genetic disease– Genetic disease is also the reason for infertility.
  5. Unexplained infertility– There are many cases in which the exact cause of infertility is not known. For this reason, IVF is also done to find out the cause of infertility.
  • IVF treatment cost in India

Today, the average cost of IVF treatment in India ranges from Rs.1 to 1.5 lakh. Now every income group can take a step towards the IVF procedure at less cost. Although the cost of IVF may vary from case to case and clinic to clinic. Variation in cost is also depending on the selection of the doctor.

The cost of IVF treatment includes treatment procedure, consultation fee, lab examination of both husband and wife to know the cause of infertility, fees for ultrasound, embryologist and gynecologist, embryology lab, OT, media, ward, and hospital expenses, etc.

Fertility and Diabetes

After eating, the pancreas in the human body releases insulin to regulate blood sugar levels. Our body needs glucose and blood glucose levels are controlled by insulin. Diabetes develops when too much sugar stays in the bloodstream and the body is unable to transport the glucose into the cells where it may be used for energy.

Diabetes can disrupt both men’s and women’s fertility if it is not well managed since it can harm their reproductive systems. Diabetes is the primary factor that delays or prevents implantation and pregnancy due to hormonal disturbance. Diabetes impairs the quality of your sperm and embryos and damages your DNA, leading to deletions and genetic mutations.

Effect of diabetes on women’s fertility

In women, diabetes can result in irregular or absent menstrual cycles, It can also increase the risk of miscarriage and stillbirth, cesarean section, and the baby needing intensive care after birth.

The factors of Infertility in Women with diabetes are:

  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
  • Oligomenorrhea (irregular periods)
  • Secondary amenorrhea (absent periods)
  • Premature menopause (premature ovarian failure)
  • Endometrial cancer (uterine cancer)
  • Microvascular and cardiovascular complications.

Effect of diabetes on men fertility

In men, diabetes is associated with a range of sexual problems including erectile dysfunction, decreased sex drive (libido), ejaculation problems, and inflammation of the foreskin (balanitis). it can cause problems maintaining levels of testosterone (the male hormone).

Benefits of well-controlled blood sugar levels in fertility:

  1. Helps conceive naturally.
  2. Reduces the risk of having a very large baby, and the baby requiring intensive care after birth
  3. Reduces the risk of congenital disorder
  4. Reduces the risk of stillbirth and neonatal death

What do experts say?

Diabetes affects the fertility of men and women, Studies show that people who try to improve their lifestyle are much more likely to succeed in pregnancy. If you and your partner improve your chance of getting pregnant by managing your diabetes, you will get success surely.

Having diabetes should not affect your fertility. If you are having a problem getting pregnant, do counseling and treatment accordingly for better outcomes. Visit us at Asha IVF and Fertility center for the best infertility treatment in Faridabad.

Though IVF has a great success rate than other infertility techniques. When you decide to go for second round of IVF, you have mixed feelings. It’s both harder and easier than the first round. We tell you how to go into your next cycle all prepared physically, mentally and emotionally:

Case review

If you are going ahead to the second IVF, your specialist would review your previous case history and find the lackness in first IVF attempt. They can suggest you some more test and can compare it from the last one. This review can help to reduce your chances of repeated IVF failure.

Re Evolution

They may ask for complete chromosome screening of the embryo prior to implantation. This testing offers a dramatic improvement in second IVF attempt and reduction in miscarriage as well as the ability to reduce the risk of multiple gestation by transferring only one chromosomally normal embryo.

Lifestyle changes

Diet plays an important role in your whole body system as well as your reproductive system. If you are a junk food lover and trying for baby then this is a bad news for you. Let’s see how it affect your fertility?

How junk food affects our fertility?

Junk foods not only have a bad effect on our health, but their consumption also reduces the chances of getting pregnant. Fast food contains chemicals that interfere with the reproduction system. Because of junk food, hormones start to produce more and also weight starts increasing. Hormonal problems for a long time can have a bad effect on women’s fertility (ability to have children). Fatty food and junk food lead to rapid weight gain. Excessive fat increases the amount of estrogen hormone, which is responsible for the formation of cysts in the ovaries, which can make you vulnerable to diseases like PCOS. Not only in women’s but men’s fertility, semen quality, including higher sperm count, concentration and motility are associated with diet.

Expert’s advise

IVF specialist in Faridabad Dr. Astha Chakrvarty says, ‘Nowadays infertility is increasing due to the trend of junk food. There are many cases of problems like PCOS coming to the fore. Parents should abide their children from junk food to avoid diseases. It is important to keep this in mind, by managing your lifestyle properly and controlling obesity, this problem can be avoided. To take special care of the health of the baby and the mother during pregnancy, there is a special need for a nutritious diet. Women/men should ignore junk food. Instead, they should include berries, green leafy vegetables, nuts, figs, beans, etc. in their diet. Antioxidants are found in these things, which increase fertility and reduce pregnancy problems.

By consulting your gynecologist as soon as you notice the symptoms of infertility, you can improve your future life. If you need any advice related to your fertility booster diet feel free to book an appointment with Dr. Astha Chakravarty. Stress and Infertility

We know sometimes it’s difficult to deal with anxiety, stress, sadness, and other mental health problems whenever they arise, and it’s not unusual for some of those problems to navigate while you’re dealing with fertility problems.

When you feel upset or do not feel well whether it’s some external or internal reason, then you start feeling stressed. There can be stress due to career, family, money, and any illness. Every person handles stress differently, so its effect on our body is also different. Stress can affect your fertility without any doubt.

How does stress affect fertility?

Stress can affect your fertility in the following ways. Stress hormones impair the body’s flight and fight response, and affect the rest of the body’s systems. It also includes the reproductive system. Stress can prevent pregnancy or affect a woman’s chance of conceiving.

Stress affects one part of your brain (the hypothalamus). This part controls your hormones. The hypothalamus is a gland in the brain that controls the hormones needed to release your eggs. This gland also controls the male’s testosterone hormone levels. Due to hormonal imbalance, the thickening of the uterine lining can also affect the implantation of the fetus.

How to cope with stress?

Change your routine so that you feel more relaxed and stress-free. If there is an obvious cause for your stress, find a solution to it so that you can be free from stress. Adequate sleep, a healthy diet, exercise, and yoga or meditation can all help reduce your stress. If these methods are not proven to be effective for your fertility, then you may need medical help. Talk to your doctor they may refer you to a fertility specialist. The fertility specialist will determine if there are any other reasons why you may not be able to ovulate. You will probably be given fertility medication to help with ovulation.

Multiple IVF failures: What is next step?

If a couple is unable to conceive naturally to become parents, they try all the medical techniques available to get the child. IVF is considered to be the best option for childless couples, IVF is an advanced technology, and with the help of that pregnancy is possible even in older age and with complex problems. It is an assisted reproductive technology that helps couples in an unnatural way (artificial insemination). After conception, the whole process is the same as a normal pregnancy.

The success rate of IVF can vary from patient to patient. Some couples are lucky enough to conceive for the first time of IVF, while some fail in treatment 2-3 times. Failure of IVF fills them with anger, disappointment, sadness, and frustration. Before exploring other options for getting pregnant after treatment failure, it is important to know what caused the failure of IVF treatment.

  • Female age

Women have less chance of becoming pregnant as they age. A decline in egg quantity and quality also affects the chances of pregnancy through IVF treatment.

  • Embryo Quality

The female’s eggs and the male’s sperm are mixed to create an embryo. Embryos can appear healthy in the lab, but when implanted into the uterus there is a possibility that they fail to implant due to an invisible defect.

  • Ovarian Response

Some women’s ovaries do not respond correctly to the medication for stimulation and thus fail to produce multiple eggs for collection. Especially in older women due to the low quantity of eggs (low ovarian reserve).

  • Implantation Issues

In some women because of the presence of uterine polyps, premature increase in progesterone levels, an endometrial lining, or an infection of the uterus, the embryos failed to implant in the uterus.

  • Lifestyle

Achieving a healthy lifestyle will also benefit you, as well as maintaining a nutritious diet and exercising regularly. If you smoke, it is shown to negatively impact fertility. it is wise to quit a few months before you begin IVF.

  • Chromosomal Abnormalities

Due to Chromosomal Abnormalities, the body rejects the embryo, and this results in IVF failure. Chromosomal abnormalities could be inherited from one of the parents or be newly developed during the early stages of embryo division.

What is the next step?

The fertility expert from Best IVF Hospital in Faridabad says, Adopting new techniques of reproduction, the couple can get pregnant. After unrevealing, the negative causes of your treatment and taking appropriate steps can help increase the success rate of conceiving. The complete details about your and your partner’s health condition can help in taking appropriate steps.

Remember, one IVF treatment failure is not the end of the world. There are many options to conceive again with the right advice and treatment. The specialist at Asha IVF & Fertility Centre after evaluating the risk of the treatment may choose other options such as surrogacy, a third-party donor to conceive successfully. The doctor may ask you for some tests and suggest some changes in your lifestyle to have a successful pregnancy.

If you or your loved one is facing this type of problem, then without any hesitation talk to a fertility expert at Best Infertility Clinic in Faridabad.

Endometrial Polyp : Symptoms and Treatment

The uterus is the main internal reproductive organ of a woman. In medical language, the polyp is an abnormal growth of body cells. They can look like small mushrooms or flat bumps. Uterine polyps grow in the inner lining of the uterus in women. These polyps are formed when the cells in the lining of the uterus (endometrium) grow i an uneven way. Uterine polyps can range in size from as small as a mole to as large as a golf ball. This mucus is a protruding structure outside the membrane. Often it is attached to the tissues like a thin and long stem below. When polyps are in the cervix, they are called Cervical Polyps, a Polyp of Cervix. . They are also called endometrial polyps. 95 percent of uterine polyps are benign, meaning they don’t cause cancer.

Symptoms of Endometrial Polyps:

  1. Irregular Menstrual Bleeding
  2. Heavy menstrual bleeding
  3. Infertility
  4. Postmenopausal bleeding
  5. Prolapse, which occurs when a polyp comes through the cervix and protrudes out of the uterus

Diagnosis

Your doctor will probably perform a pelvic ultrasound if you are having irregular bleeding or other symptoms. Sometimes an ultrasound alone can’t make the diagnosis of a uterine polyp, then Transvaginal ultrasound is performed with a thin device with a camera inserted into the vagina that emits sound waves to produce an image of the uterus. A polyp may be visible in it. This is called a hysteroscopy. It helps diagnose polyps. This polyp maybe shows clearly or may be in the form of thickened endometrial tissue.

Treatment

If there is a problem with having a baby and there is a polyp in the uterus, then doctors recommend removing it. Hormonal medications can reduce the symptoms of a polyp. But taking such medicines is usually a short-term solution. Symptoms usually recur when the medicine is stopped. Very small polyps are often not treated because sometimes it disappears on their own. Your doctor will plan a treatment to make sure they don’t get larger.

If you have symptoms, you might need treatment to remove the polyps. Surgery is the only option to remove it if it is not treated with medicine.  Endometrial polyps are most often removed by a procedure called hysteroscopy. Sometimes, a D and C (Dilation and Curettage) can be done to biopsy the endometrium and remove the polyp. This is less commonly used.

Uterine Polyps can lead to infertility or miscarriage. The polyp can make it difficult for the embryo to implant in the uterus. In many cases, pregnancy can happen when there are uterine polyps, but there can be problems with it. Many women have repeated miscarriages due to polyps. A successful surgery includes completely removing the polyp, an improvement in symptoms, and healing well. Removing uterine polyps can help fertility.

Go to the Laparoscopy Hysteroscopy clinic in Faridabad for the appointment. Let the Best Infertility specialist in Faridabad know any symptoms of polyp and find suitable treatment for you.

Male-Factor Infertility and treatment

When we talk about infertility we focus on female infertility whereas about 10% of infertility can be attributed to male factors only, while 35% of cases involve both male and female factors. Thus, almost half of all couples with infertility may have a male factor.

Causes of Male Infertility

Male factor infertility is most commonly due to problems with the sperm by a variety of conditions; some of these can be corrected, while others cannot. Problems may exist in sperm production, ejaculation, or motility.:

  1. 30-40% of cases problems in the testes
  2. 10-20% blockage in the pathway that allows sperm to exit the testes during ejaculation
  3. 1-2% of cases problems in the pituitary or hypothalamus
  4. 40-50% of cases no identifiable cause, even after evaluation

Treatment

Before treatment, it is also important to consider potential issues related to sexual behavior, such as erectile or ejaculatory dysfunction, or lack of sexual desire due to depression or medication use. Treatment for male infertility depends upon the underlying cause. Treatments may be depending upon whether the semen contains few sperm (oligozoospermia), no sperm (azoospermia), abnormally shaped sperm (teratozoospermia), and/or sperm with poor motility (asthenozoospermia). Treatment often involves both male and female partners.

Intrauterine insemination

The best treatment for problems with sperm motility or concentration is intrauterine insemination. At the time of ovulation, the most active sperm are focused and placed within the uterus of the female partner. You can utilize intrauterine insemination with or without treating the female partner.

In vitro fertilization (IVF)

Male tubal blockage and unexplained infertility are two conditions that frequently require the use of in vitro fertilization (IVF).

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)

This technique involves injecting one sperm into each egg. ICSI is typically advised if a couple has already decided to proceed with IVF and the semen analysis is abnormal.

Testicular extraction of sperm

When a man’s sperm count in the ejaculate is completely absent, (TESE) is performed. Under local anesthetic, sperm can be aspirated directly from the testes using a needle or through a very small incision. Depending on the cause of male infertility, sperm may not always be found during this technique. If sperm is found and retrieved, ICSI utilizes it.

The Best IUI Centre in Faridabad is well equipped with the latest technology and advanced equipment to assist in treatment. We provide the innovativefertility treatmentsto fill thecouple’s lapwith Joy.

How to Improve Egg Quality?

Many things matter to get pregnant and women need to have a strong reproductive system to bear the fetus. If the egg of the pregnant woman is healthy, then the development of the embryo will be better. Take care of hydration

Women must drink 2-3 liters of water daily. It keeps blood circulation smooth. When oxygen-rich blood goes to the ovary, the quality of the eggs improves.
