Various Test before IVF

IVF technology has been working for many years to bring happiness to couples who are unable to become parents due to fertility problems or have any kind of health-related problems. During the treatment through IVF technology, couples have to through some tests to determine the kind of treatment required. When couples are treated with IVF technology then all these treatments are done, So that you can know where the problem to conceive is.

So let’s know which the tests that are necessary before IVF are.

Blood hormone test

First of all, blood tests and hormone tests are performed. The blood test checks anemia and tests the concentration of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), estradiol (estrogen), and anti-mullerian during the first few days of your menstrual cycle. AMH test shows the process of formation of eggs in the Ovarian Reserve i.e. ovary. In conditions of low AMH, eggs are produced below average and their quality is not good.

Fallopian tube test

The primary process of conception takes place in the tube, so a tube test is essential. The USG test or Tubal Patency Test is done to look if the tube is open or not or if there is an infection. There will be a problem in conceiving when there is a disorder in the tube. IVF technique is effective in case of tube blockage.

Uterine examination

Before you begin IVF, your doctor will check the interior lining of your uterus. A sonohysterogram may be required. The endometrial lining and cavity can be seen with a transvaginal ultrasound scan, which has been utilised as a screening test for the uterine cavity. This test determines whether the uterus is functioning appropriately.

Ovarian Reserve Testing

Ovarian reserve testing allows doctors to help women predict their fertility potential. These tests can tell you how much time you have until you can conceive and how many eggs have reached an advanced stage of development.

ERA test

An ERA Test or Endometrial Receptivity Analysis claims to help women pursuing In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) determine whether their endometrium is receiving an embryo at the right time in an attempt to maximize their chances of a successful pregnancy and live birth.

Prolactin and Thyroid Hormones

Thyroid hormone is essential for regular body metabolism, while prolactin is required for the production of breast milk. Challenges to conception are caused by abnormal amounts of these hormones. Drugs are required to correct these issues

Semen Evaluation

The basic parameters in semen evaluation include total count, shape, motility, and concentration of sperm. We can determine whether the patient requires advanced therapies such as ICSI (Intra Cytoplasm Sperm Injection) or basic techniques such as IUI based on these data.

IUI vs IVF: Which Is Right for You?

Every married couple wants to become a parent, but in some cases, some women are not able to conceive naturally, so they have to resort to fertility treatment. In which women can become mothers through IVF and IUI. Some women get pregnant for the first time after treatment. At the same time, many women have to go through this process 2-3 times. Many patients are confused that which the best the two IVF and IUI is.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

IVF or test tube baby is called in vitro fertilization. In this process, more eggs than normal are made in the womb of women with the help of medicines and injections. The eggs are then surgically removed and mixed with the sperms in a culture dish in the lab and kept for 2-3 days for fertilization. Ultrasound is used in this whole process. Finally, when the embryo is formed, after the examination is implanted back into the woman’s womb. After implanting the embryo in the uterus, its success and failure are known through blood or pregnancy test at 14 days. The chances of a woman becoming a mother through this procedure are up to 70%.

Intrauterine Insemination Technique (IUI)

IUI ie Intrauterine Insemination Technique is a much simpler procedure than IVF. IUI is a simple fertility treatment that is done without fertility drugs. In this, the sperm of the man are injected directly into the uterus of the woman through a thin plastic catheter tube, but the woman has to take fertility drugs to produce eggs so that the embryo can be formed.

Let us know here what the difference between the two is.

  • IUI is done when the problem is not in women but in their male partners. On the other hand, when the problem is found in women, then IVF is done.
  • There are no chances of pregnancy after IUI after menopause, whereas women can become a mother even after menopause with IVF.
  • The cost of becoming a mother through IUI treatment is much less than that of IVF.
  • According to Best IVF Doctor in Faridabad, the quality of the embryo cannot be estimated in IUI, but in IVF the quality of the embryo can be seen in advance.

Endometriosis: What You Need to Know

Are you trying to conceive for a long time? Or your repeated attempts to conceive are unsuccessful. One of the reasons could be endometriosis. Endometriosis is a fertility disorder in which endometrial tissue that resembles the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterine cavity. The lining of the uterus is called the endometrium. Endometriosis happens when endometrial tissue grows on the tissues lining the ovaries, bowel, and pelvis.

About 40 percent of women have difficulty conceiving because of endometriosis. Endometriosis is likely due to the increased levels of the hormone estrogen in the body. The hormonal changes of your menstrual cycle affect the misplaced endometrial-like tissue. It causes inflamed and painful area in uterus. This means the tissue will grow, thicken, and break down. Over time, the tissue that has broken down has nowhere to go and becomes trapped in your pelvis. The fertility of women is badly affected due to endometriosis.

Symptoms of Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a chronic disease that progresses over time. This is also a reason for the unbearable pain during menstruation. Symptoms of endometriosis are different for every woman. Some women may experience moderate symptoms while others may experience severe problems. The most frequent symptom of endometriosis is pelvic pain.

In this you may see the following symptoms:

  • Pain during periods
  • Pain in the lower abdomen before and during menstruation
  • Cramps around a week or two after menstruation
  • Bleeding between periods or heavy periods
  • Pain during intercourse
  • Discomfort in passing stools
  • Pain in the lower back at any time during menstruation.

Treatment

The treatment depends on the severity of the symptoms of the woman and its duration. In mild to moderate cases of endometriosis, women can still conceive. Doctors advise women with endometriosis to conceive as soon as possible as the condition worsens over time.

The Best Gynaecologist in Faridabad says “for treatment, first of all, we manage this disease with medicines. With medicines, we try to suppress the endometrial tissues in unusual places so that their effect is reduced.”

When medications fail to provide relief, surgery may also be considered. The fertility of women in this condition can be increased by surgery. This surgery is done through laparoscopy in which the frozen blood around the ovaries and other organs is removed, without harming the reproductive system. Moreover, by this action, the bent limbs are also brought to their old places. This provides great relief from pain and also increases the chances of becoming a mother.
